Do you want to look better during your video calls?

Here are some simple tips and tricks to help you.

  1. Lighting is everything. Natural light combined with a light source in front of you, facing your way would be best. Make sure there is not too much light behind you, because you do not want to appear as a silhouette. Side lighting is not ideal either, as it will emphasize the glare.

  2. A good rule of thumb is to keep an arm’s length between you and the screen.

  3. Put the camera at eye level or slightly above to avoid creating the double chin effect or giving the audience a straight shot of your forehead.

  4. Make sure you have a flat, clear surface, such as a desk or table, to set your device

  5. A clean, neutral background will make sure all the focus remains on you.
